BSEB Matric 2026: Practical Exams from Nov 19, New Vocational Rules for Class 9-12

BSEB Matric 2026: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has intensified preparations for the Matriculation (Class 10) Setup Checking Exam scheduled for the year 2026. The Board has announced that practical examinations will begin on November 19, 2025. In this regard, instructions have been issued to all district officials to prepare question papers for practical and setup check exams.

Major Changes in Vocational Education

A major focus this year is on vocational education. Officials have been asked to prepare question papers for vocational courses as well. This will include the 20-mark CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) test. Students from classes 9 to 12 in the state will now be evaluated based on this new format. This is a significant educational reform aimed at connecting students with skills alongside academic education. Previously, this course was only available in grades 11 and 12.

Exam Pattern and Passing Criteria Clarified

The annual written examination for vocational courses will carry a total of 100 marks, divided into three parts:

Written Examination (30 marks): A minimum of 10 marks is required to pass.

Practical and Oral Examination (50 marks): The passing mark is set at 17.

CCE (20 marks): An important condition is that only students who score at least 10 marks in the written examination will be eligible for CCE.

Fact Check:

Date: Practical examinations are proposed to begin on November 19, 2025.

New Rule: Vocational education will now begin in Class 9, a new initiative.

Passing Criteria: A minimum of 10 marks in the written examination and a minimum of 17 marks in the practical examination are required.

The Board has also sent the complete question paper preparation process and the format for the distribution of marks to the districts. It is estimated that this year, more than 60,000 candidates from all districts of the state will appear for the Matriculation examination. This initiative is a significant step towards equipping students with employment-oriented skills from the earliest stages of their educational journey.
