Key Points of Office Attendant Recruitment

Office Attendant recruitment is being conducted to fill vacant assistant positions in various state government ministries and departments. The Animal and Fisheries Resources Department has the highest number of vacancies, with 1,138 vacant positions. This is followed by the Building Construction Department, which will fill 500 positions.

The minimum qualification for this position is a 10th-grade pass. The age limit is 18 to 37 years. Three years of relaxation will be given to women in the unreserved category, three years for OBC and EBC candidates, and five years for SC and ST candidates. Age will be calculated from August 1, 2025.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process

For Office Attendants, there will be a preliminary examination, followed by the main examination. The preliminary examination will consist of 100 objective-type questions, including General Mathematics (30 marks), General Knowledge (40 marks), and General Hindi (30 marks). The exam will be of two hours’ duration. 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The qualifying marks have been set at 40 percent for unreserved categories, 36.5 percent for backward classes, 34 percent for extremely backward classes, and 32 percent for SC, ST, women, and disabled candidates.

The graduate-level CGL-4 exam will fill 1,481 positions. These include positions such as Assistant Branch Officer, Planning Assistant, Junior Statistical Assistant, Data Entry Operator Grade-C, Auditor, and Auditor in Subsidiary Committees. Most positions require a bachelor’s degree in any subject, while positions such as Auditor and Statistical Assistant require qualifications in Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, or Statistics.

The minimum age for CGL positions is 21 years, and the maximum age is 37 years. The same relaxations apply to reserved categories as for office attendants.

Open-Book Preliminary Exam

This time, a new change has been made to the CGL Preliminary Exam. The exam will be available with books. Candidates can only take three books—one each for General Studies, Mathematics, and General Science. Only textbooks from NCERT, Bihar Board, or other recognized boards will be valid. Guides, notes, and electronic devices will not be permitted. The exam will consist of 150 questions and will be 2 hours and 15 minutes long. Four marks will be awarded for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Required Documents and Fees

Only the candidate’s permanent address will be valid for reservation purposes during the recruitment process. Uploading a caste certificate, domicile certificate, EWS certificate, and other category-related documents will be mandatory at the time of the main exam.
