On this day, take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes, and meditate on all the deitie,s including Shiva-Parvati. Devotees who observe the fast should take a pledge and light a lamp in the evening at dusk. Go to the temple or Shivalaya in the house and perform the Abhishek of Lord Shiva and worship the Shiva family. Chanting Shiva mantras and listening to the Budha Pradosh Vrat Katha during the puja is considered to be especially fruitful. At the end of the puja, do Aarti and pray for forgiveness.
