Weather in Delhi-NCR became dramatic on Tuesday afternoon. The sky stayed cloudy all morning, with the sun briefly shining now and then. But suddenly dark clouds covered the sky at 12 noon and poured heavy showers. The sudden relief from the hot, humid weather, especially in Noida and Faridabad, was brought on by the rain.
Residents, long enduring sweltering heat, finally found some relief. At Faridabad, individuals were spotted reveling in the rains, venturing out of offices and homes to experience the cool climate. Noida also witnessed rain in the majority of locations, establishing a pleasant weather after several days of dry hot weather.
Faridabad Experiences Waterlogging and Power Outages
Although the rain was a relief, the rain resulted in trouble in Faridabad to numerous localities. Hardware Chowk, Dabua Colony, Jawahar Colony, Air Force Road, Parvatiya Colony, Sanjay Colony, Sector-23, SGM Nagar, Sector-52, and Sehatpur all had waterlogging in a few minutes of rain. Roads were instant channels of water within a few minutes, reducing speed and becoming inconvenient to walk.
Power supply was disrupted in certain regions, scaring people even further. Road commuters caught in traffic and people out of necessity struggled to drive through the submerged roads. Rain laid bare poor drainage and the city’s unpreparedness to handle the situation.
