Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Heavy Rain Brings Relief, IMD Yellow Alert, Traffic Disruption

Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Heavy rains in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and other parts of the National Capital Region on Thursday morning brought cool relief to the people. The sound of rain falling from the sky in the morning and the smell of soil washed away the sticky heat that had been going on for many days. When the coolness spread in the air, people’s faces also blossomed.

Difficulties, along with relief, waterlogging in many areas

While the rain brought relief, it also brought some problems with it. There were reports of waterlogging in many low-lying areas of Delhi-NCR, which slowed down the traffic. Vehicles were seen stuck in water at many places, and people had to face difficulty even while walking. Nevertheless, the relief from hot and humid weather lightened these troubles.

Temperature drops, IMD issues a yellow alert

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature of the capital dropped to 27 degrees Celsius due to Thursday’s rain. The minimum temperature is expected to be between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius, and the maximum between 32 to 34 degrees Celsius. The department has issued a yellow alert and advised people to be cautious about heavy rains and the problems caused by them.

Traffic is likely to be affected due to the festival in Paharganj

Meanwhile, Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory on Wednesday. According to this, traffic will be affected in the Paharganj area on Thursday afternoon due to the Janmashtami and Tazia procession. The police have appealed to the passengers to take alternative routes and start their journey early.

Memorable rainy day

For the capital, this morning was not just a change in weather, but a feeling – a sweet relief from the heat. Children were seen playing in the water on the streets, tea shops were crowded, and pictures of Delhi drenched in rain went viral on social media. Despite waterlogging and traffic problems, this rain became memorable for the people of Delhi.
