Fast Food Health Warning: 5 Everyday Snacks Worse Than Samosa & Jalebi, Say Experts

Not Samosa and Jalebi Alone

The argument for unhealthy foods such as samosa and jalebi keeps coming up, particularly when health experts point out how risky they can be. However, in real life, these two are not the only dangerous foods for your health. Most of the fast foods we consume each day, without even considering them, are causing greater harm than we could ever imagine.

Some weeks back, a health advisory branded samosa and jalebi as our healthiest enemies. Some later tried to counter that image by referring to their nutritional value. But there are so many more like pizza, burgers, momos, pasta, and cold drinks that are so much a part of our daily lives and even worse, if not more harmful.

What the Expert Says

Fast foods moved into our food culture unobserved, believes Dr. Akshat Chaddha, renowned nutritionist. Even the snacks that were a casual indulgence earlier have become a habit for us all today. They are delicious, but don’t do much for your health. Worse, they kill your heart, liver, digestion, and even sully immunity in the long run.

Avoid Junk Foods

Here Are 5 Snacks You Should Limit

1. Pizza

Pizza might be your favorite comfort food, but it’s far from safe. Dr. Chaddha says that pizza should be had once every 15 days. A single slice has 300 calories, and over 600 mg of sodium in it. Cheese, sauce, and toppings increase bad cholesterol which disrupt your heart and liver health.

2. Burger

Burgers are liked by children and adults. Some of them even consume them daily. The maida is utilized for making the bun, which is difficult to digest. The patty is fried in refined oil, and the sauces contains preservatives and sugar in it. If you consume it daily, it will increase cholesterol and also heart disease risk.

3. Momos

Momos are tasty and affordable street food but bad for your health. Made from maida and filled with subpar filling, momos are not good for your health if eaten regularly. Experts advise not eating momos more than twice a month. The spicy chutney that comes along can wreak havoc on your digestive system, while maida contributes to fatty liver as well as kidney diseases.

4. Pasta

Pasta, particularly in pink or white sauces, is a youth favorite. Processed flour-made pasta raises blood glucose and provides extra fat, causing obesity. Experts say children must eat pasta only once in 2–3 months and adults once a month at most.

Avoid Junk Foods

5. Ice Cream & Cold Drinks

These are worst for children. Both contain high amounts of saturated fat and sugar. Both play havoc with digestive health and cause weight gain, sugar rush, and weakened immunity. Cold beverages are so bad that experts say one must avoid them at all costs.

Fast food might taste delicious and convenient, but the repetition can secretly kill your body without even knowing it in the beginning. Taste won’t last, but health will. Eat moderately, be aware, and eat in moderation with foods of your choice.
