FASTag New Rule 2025: A Big news has come out for the drivers traveling on the highway in the country. The government has implemented a new rule regarding Fastag, after which crossing the toll tax will not be as easy as before. Actually, till now, people used to get their Fastag recharged a few minutes before reaching the toll plaza and used to leave without any hassle. But the government has changed this process. Due to this change, now the drivers will have to prepare in advance to recharge the FASTag. This rule has been implemented since August 1,5 and preparations are being made to strictly implement it at toll plazas across the country.
FASTag’s new rule increased the strictness
Head Constable Vivekanand Tiwari, posted in Shahdol Traffic Department, posted a video on social media regarding this rule, which went viral in no time. Tiwari made it clear in the video that now if a driver recharges Fastag while crossing the toll, it will not be activated immediately. Instead, it will take one hour for the Fastag to become active after recharge. That is, if there is no balance in your vehicle and you recharge the FASTag after reaching the toll gate, then you will not be able to cross the toll for one hour.
Why was the rule changed?
Rahul Sharma, manager of the Dhurwar toll plaza in Shahdol district, gave information on this change. According to him, earlier, most of the people used to recharge the FASTag at the last moment and leave. This often led to a situation of debate and dispute at the toll plaza because the system had trouble updating immediately. In such a situation, both drivers and toll employees had trouble. Now the government has implemented this new rule to end this problem.
Vivekanand Tiwari’s video goes viral on social media
The video giving information about the new rule has gone viral on social media. More than 2 crore people have seen it so far. Vivekanand Tiwari, who is posted as a Head Constable in Shahdol Traffic Police Station, regularly makes awareness videos related to traffic. His videos are watched by crores of people on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. He has more than 83 lakh subscribers on YouTube, more than 51 lakh followers on Facebook, and more than 20 lakh followers on Instagram.
The reason for his popularity is not only his simple style, but also the important information shared from time to time, which proves useful for the general public. For this reason, people are liking this video of his very much.
What is important for passengers?
Now the question arises that how will this rule affect the drivers? First of all, it is clear that before reaching the toll plaza, you have to check the balance of your FASTag. If there is no balance, then it will be necessary to recharge at least one hour in advance. If you do not do this, you will have to stop at the toll gate, which may delay your journey.
Need for an awareness campaign
Vivekanand Tiwari believes that people are unaware of this change, so he has given a message through the video. His only purpose is to ensure that the drivers understand this rule in time and avoid trouble on the journey. This is the reason why his video has become a topic of discussion among the people.
The government’s plan and future direction
The government’s intention regarding Fastag is clear. It wants to strengthen the cashless toll system across the country and end the problem of jams at toll plazas. This is the reason why such changes are made from time to time. Experts believe that if people get into the habit of recharging on time, then this new rule will prove to be very effective in the long run.
The new rule of Fastag may seem to be a cause of trouble for the drivers initially, but its purpose is to eliminate the problems occurring at the toll plaza. Now, passengers should check their Fastag balance before setting out on the journey and recharge it in time. Otherwise, they may have to stop on the way.
This step of the government has been taken in the direction of making the digital payment system more strong. In the coming time, it is expected that this will make the toll system more transparent and simple.
