As the Group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 has come to an end, there have been many upsets as well as great moments from this tournament. So, given below is a list of all the teams that have made it to the Round of 16 of this year’s Club World Cup that is being held in the United States of America.
Group A:
1st: Palmeiras (5 Points)
It’s the Brazilian Club Palmeiras that has managed to top Group A with a total of 5 points. They had a comfortable lead going into the final match of their group, which was against Messi’s Inter Miami which they managed to draw after going down 2-0 early in the game.
2nd Inter Miami (5 Points)
This has been a great underdog run from Inter Miami, as many pundits predicted them to finish last in the group, as their team was the weakest one, according to many in the group. But Messi and the experience of players like Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Suarez have carried Inter Miami to the group stage of the tournament. Inter Miami were bound to finish in first place as were winning comfortably against Palmeiras, but they blew the lead in the final minutes of the game and finished second eventually on goal difference.
Did you know: In his entire career, Lionel Messi has never gone out in the group stage of any tournament! (He has been in knockout tournaments a total of 33 times)
Group B:
1st: PSG (6 Points)
Luis Enrique’s PSG have managed to make it to the R-16 of this tournament with ease, as they dominated for most of the tournament. Many predict PSG to win this tournament with ease as they have recently won the CL final against Inter Milan and are in great form.
2nd: Botafogo (6 Points)
Brazilian Club Botafogo finished in 2nd place behind PSG due to goal difference. This has been seen as a surprise to many, as most expected that Atletico Madrid would finish in second place, but they also have been knocked out despite having the same points as PSG and Botafogo due to goal difference.
Group C:
1st: Benfica (7 Points)
Portuguese club Benfica have topped Group C with a tough 1-0 victory against German giants Bayern Munich, which was seen as a surprise to many, as nobody was expecting Benfica to top the group.
2nd Bayern Munich (6 points)
German Giants Bayern Munich have finished 2nd in the group. They were expected to top the group until the last game, when they lost against Benfica. Bayern is a really strong team and is expected to at least make it to the Semi-Finals of this tournament.
Group D:
1st: Flamego (7 points)
Brazilian club Flamengo have managed to top Group D with a total of 7 points. They managed to keep a perfect record, not losing a single game as they won 2 games and drew 1.
2nd Chelsea (6 Points)
Conference League winners Chelsea have finished second in Group D. They have come into the tournament with a star-studded squad, with the likes of Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandes under their ranks. They are a top team and are expected to do wonders in the tournament.
Group E:
1st Inter Milan (7 Points)
Italian club and Champions League runners-up, Inter Milan, have finished 1st in Group E. They managed a perfect record in the tournament’s group stage. Inter Milan is going through a changing phase, and under manager Christian Chivu, is expected to do wonders in this tournament.
2nd Monterrey (5 points)
Mexican Club Monterrey has managed to make it to the Round of 16 of the tournament. Star defender Sergio Ramos has played a major role in Monterrey’s successful group stage in this tournament.
Group F:
1st: Borussia Dortmund (7 Points)
German Club Dortmund have made it to the round of 16 of the tournament after finishing in a comfortable 1st place. They have a star-studded squad like other European giants and are also expected to do wonders in the tournament.
2nd: Fluminense (5 Points)
Another Brazilian club in the list, Fluminense, has managed to make it to the knockout stage by finishing in 2nd place. They had a solid group stage and just narrowly finished in 2nd place, just 1 point ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Group G:
1st: Manchester City (9 Points)
Manchester City have topped Group G with a dominating group stage as they won all the games they have played in the Club World Cup. They are the only team in the tournament that has managed to win all their group stage games. After a disappointing last season, Pep Guardiola has completely transformed the City team into a completely new and powerful team.
Many pundits have predicted that the final for the Club World Cup would be played between PSG and Manchester City, and it appears as if their prediction will turn out to be true.
2nd: Juventus (6 Points)
Italian Giants, Juventus, have managed to finish second in Group G. They were in contention for the top spot against Manchester City up until the final matchday, but lost the top spot after losing 5-2 against Manchester City.
Group H:
1st Real Madrid (7 Points)
As expected, Spanish giants Real Madrid have topped Group H under the leadership of the newly appointed manager Xabi Alonso. Many fans are counting on Real Madrid to win the tournament due to their star-studded lineup, including the likes of Mbappe, Bellingham, and Vinicius, and new additions like Trent and Dean Huijsen.
2nd Al-Hilal (5 Points)
Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal has finished 2nd in Group H as they edged past RB Salzburg to make it to the knockout stage. They have an overall balanced squad, and under new manager Inzaghi, can surprise a few if they keep on performing like this.
