After this training, the candidate is given a specific sector, where he does the delivery work. The same process is followed for Myntra as well.
What is taught in the training?
During the training, the delivery boys are not only shown the routes and areas, but are also taught to talk politely to the customers. They are taught to use GPS and map apps, handle cash on delivery, update online payments, and enter the order report in the app.
Safety is also a big part of the training. They are instructed to follow traffic rules by wearing a helmet, keep the parcel safe in rain or sun, and immediately inform the company in case of any emergency, such as an accident, theft, or customer complaint.
How much are the earnings?
Talking about the earnings, every company has a different rate. Amazon pays its delivery boys around Rs 12 per parcel. If 100 parcels are handed over to a boy, then up to Rs 1200 can be earned in a day. On an average, a delivery boy delivers 70 to 80 parcels daily, which means that about Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 can be earned per month.
On the other hand, Myntra’s delivery partner says that he gets Rs 14 per parcel. Many times, the company also gives an additional incentive of Rs 2. That is, it is possible to earn up to Rs 16 on one order. If 80 parcels are delivered on a day, then the earnings can easily reach Rs 1200.
Who has to compensate for the loss?
The responsibility of the delivery boy is not limited to just delivering the goods. If a parcel is lost on the way or gets damaged before reaching the customer, then the delivery boy has to pay its full price. For example, if goods worth Rs 800 are lost, the same amount can be deducted from his salary. However, if the parcel is already broken and the delivery boy informs the company in time, then he does not have to compensate for it.
Insurance and security facilities
Big companies also provide insurance facilities to their delivery partners. Amazon provides bike accident insurance to its delivery boys. This insurance gives them financial help in case of an accident. This facility definitely provides some security at the work, because the risk of accidents on the road is always there.
