Monsoon Finally Hits Haryana Brings Much Needed Relief from Heat
In Haryana the monsoon has finally arrived and brought relief to people , who were struggling with high temperatures and sticky humidity. In many areas like Faridabad, Ambala ,Yamunanagar and Panchkula there was light rain throughout the night so the weather turned cool and comfortable in the morning.
The showers helped in lowering the temperature , and also cleared the air making the atmosphere feel fresh. People stepped outside , feeling the difference in the air so there was a sense of comfort after many days of discomfort.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert in 16 Haryana Districts Today
In its latest update the Chandigarh Weather Centre has issued a yellow alert for 16 districts in Haryana due to possible rainfall and thunderstorm activity.Rain is likely in most areas of Panchkula , Ambala ,Yamunanagar Kurukshetra ,Kaithal ,Karnal and Panipat . So residents in these regions should remain alert for possible rainfall.In addition, Jind ,Sonipat ,Rohtak ,Rewari ,Jhajjar ,Mahendragarh ,Gurugram ,Faridabad ,Sirsa ,Fatehabad ,Hisar ,Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri are expected to receive some scattered rainfall too. Residents living in these areas will have the possibility of rain during the day and evening hours.
The refreshing cool weather coupled with light rain during night got Faridabad residents waking to a pleasant morning. Tuesday weather was extremely hot and humid but late-night showers brought the temperature down.
The Indian Meteorological Department says that this season Haryana has received 32 percent more rainfall than usual. Where the state should have received around 83.9 mm rain it has already received 111.1 mm so this is a strong start to the monsoon.
Ambala Cools Down Sirsa Still Sizzles
The rain has also affected the temperature across Haryana. According to weather data the maximum temperature has dropped by 1.6 degrees Celsius in many areas.
Ambala saw the biggest drop as the temperature settled at 33.8 degrees Celsius. But Sirsa remained the hottest district in the state with the mercury touching 39.2 degrees Celsius. In contrast Hisar experienced a rise in temperature as it increased by 5 degrees and reached 37 degrees Celsius even though some parts of the district received rain.
Waterlogging in Cities Commuters Affected
In many urban parts of Haryana the rain led to waterlogging especially in low lying areas in Ambala Rohtak and Gurugram. So commuters had to face traffic delays and water filled streets in the morning. But despite these small troubles people still welcomed the rain as it brought relief from days of extreme heat.
Looking ahead, the IMD has predicted more light to moderate rain on July 11 and 12. Many parts of Haryana may see continued showers so it is a good idea to carry umbrellas and keep an eye on weather alerts.
