The monsoon has spread across India so many regions are seeing heavy rain and thunderstorms but Delhi is still waiting under hot and humid skies The capital saw a short spell of drizzle on Monday so it brought a little relief from the heat but the real monsoon rain is yet to come IMD says the monsoon may reach Delhi soon and people are hoping for some cooling rain within the next day
Gujarat Flooded More Rain Predicted
Gujarat got hit hard by the monsoon in the past day so more than 150 talukas received good rainfall Water filled the streets and many cities reported traffic problems so the IMD has now warned of more heavy rain today It says 16 districts in Saurashtra and South Gujarat could get heavy or very heavy rain so people should be alert and stay safe
North and Central India Hit by Warnings
In Uttar Pradesh Bihar and Rajasthan rain alerts are already in place IMD has issued yellow and orange warnings for cities like Lucknow Varanasi Patna and Jaipur In Bihar districts like Supaul and West Champaran may see lightning or strong winds so people are being told to be careful Rajasthan has already seen more rain than normal this month and in some places roads are full of water
Uttarakhand and Himachal on Orange Alert
The hills are now getting monsoon rain too so IMD has issued orange alerts for places like Bageshwar in Uttarakhand and parts of Himachal Pradesh The rain is likely to get stronger in the next few days so people living in landslide areas should be careful and follow all safety advice
