Jharkhand Jail Warder Recruitment 2025: A great opportunity has arrived for the youth of Jharkhand to secure a government job. Application Process and Important Dates
Following the application process, candidates can pay the examination fee and upload their photo and signature until midnight on December 10, 2025. The recruitment process will be conducted under the Jharkhand State Police, Warder, Constable (Home Guard Corps), and Excise Constable Combined Recruitment Rules, 2025.
Physical Test Simplified
Keeping in mind the convenience of candidates, the state government has made the Physical Efficiency Test significantly easier. Male candidates will now have to complete a 1600-meter run in six minutes, compared to the previous 10-kilometer distance. Relaxation in the rules has also been provided for women—they will now have to complete a 1600-meter run in 10 minutes, compared to the previous 6-kilometer distance.
In a cabinet meeting held in March 2025, it was decided to simplify the physical test criteria for police, constables, and warders recruitment to allow more eligible candidates to participate.
Postal Details
Of the total 1733 posts, 1634 are reserved for male candidates, while 64 are reserved for women. Additionally, 165 posts are reserved for ex-servicemen, 413 for home guards, and the remaining 1056 for general candidates.
Qualifications and Age Limit
Candidates for the Kakshapal recruitment must be 10th grade (matriculate). The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 25 years. However, the state government has relaxed the age limit based on reservation requirements—
Men from the Extremely Backward Class category will receive a 2-year relaxation, Women from the Unreserved, EWS, and Extremely Backward Class categories will receive a 3-year relaxation, while men and women from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) will receive a 5-year relaxation.
Height Standards
Male candidates from the Unreserved, EWS, and Extremely Backward Class categories must have a minimum height of 160 centimeters and a chest measurement of 81 centimeters.
For men from the SC and ST categories, the minimum height requirement is 155 centimeters and a chest measurement of 79 centimeters.
Female candidates must have a minimum height of 148 centimeters.
Selection Process
The selection process will be completed in three stages—
First, a physical standardization and physical efficiency test, followed by a written examination, and finally a medical examination. Successful candidates in all stages will be included in the final selection list.
Pay Scale and Fees
Candidates selected under this recruitment will receive a salary ranging from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 as per the Level-2 pay matrix. The application fee is ₹100, while for SC/ST candidates in Jharkhand, the fee is ₹50.
Jharkhand Assistant Jailor Recruitment 2025: Opportunity for 42 Posts
JSSC has also issued a notification for recruitment to the post of Assistant Jailor in Jharkhand. This recruitment includes a total of 42 posts, for which the application process will run from November 7 to December 8, 2025.
For the post of Assistant Jailor, candidates must have a graduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university. The selection process will include a written examination, physical efficiency test, and medical examination.
The pay scale for this position will be Level-5 of the Pay Matrix, i.e., from ₹29,200 to ₹92,300.
Physical Standards Remain the Same
The same physical standards will apply for the Assistant Jailor as prescribed for the Warder recruitment. Male candidates will be required to complete a 1600-meter race in 6 minutes, while women will be required to complete it in 10 minutes.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Both the Jharkhand Wardor and Assistant Jailor examinations will be conducted in two stages—a preliminary examination and a main examination.
If fewer than 50,000 candidates qualify for the physical efficiency test, only the main examination will be conducted. In the event of more than 50,000 candidates, the Commission will make a decision based on the circumstances.
The examination will be based on objective and multiple-choice questions. 3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
All questions, except for language subjects, will be available in both Hindi and English.
Preliminary Exam Syllabus –
The exam will consist of a total of 120 questions, covering general studies, knowledge related to the state of Jharkhand, general mathematics, general science, and mental ability. The exam duration will be 2 hours.
