Mains Exam Pattern: Important Information for Preparation
For candidates who pass the Prelims, the Mains exam will be conducted in two parts:
Objective Test: This will be for 300 marks, consisting of 120 questions from topics such as reasoning, data analysis, general knowledge/current affairs, and insurance and financial market awareness. The time limit for this exam is 2 hours, and there is no negative marking.
Descriptive Test: This is a qualifying exam in the English language (essay and letter writing) for 25 marks. The marks for this exam are not counted in the merit list, but passing is mandatory. The time limit for this exam will be 30 minutes.
