Lucknow was soaked through on Monday as rain also returned in full. Intense rainfall with gusty winds were witnessed by most areas of the city, including Mahanagar, Gomtinagar, Alambagh, and Old Lucknow. Strong winds of 30 – 40 km/h quickly flooded the streets, sending people running for cover and bringing traffic to a crawl.

The city saw an average of 21.9 mm of rain, as per the Meteorological Department. But some areas were struck harder, Malihabad being the highest at 42 mm receiving rain. While it did rain, the temperature was relatively high. The highest was 35°C, a bit above normal by 0.2°C, and the night fell by a little to 26°C.
Monsoon to Pick Up Again from July 15
Scientist Atul Kumar Singh tells us that there’s a fresh low-pressure system developing over the Bay of Bengal that will lead to another spell of rain. The fresh system will gain strength from July 14 night, but will mainly impact eastern Uttar Pradesh. From July 15, light to moderate rain will cover the entire majority of the state, with a few areas even receiving heavy rains.

If you are already in the city of Lucknow, carry your raincoat or an umbrella with you. Partly cloudy weather is what the day should have. There may be thunder and lightning at some places, with a little rain. Not much temperature drop should be expected, though. The day temperature should be around 34°C with the night dipping to 25°C.
