Ladki Sunbai Yojana: The Mahayuti government of Maharashtra launched the ‘Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana’ just before the 2024 assembly elections. Under this scheme, eligible women of the state are being given financial assistance of Rs 1500 every month. The big impact of this scheme was clearly visible in the election results, and it is being said that its popularity played an important role in getting the Mahayuti alliance victory.
Now, ‘Larki Sunbai Yojana’ is in discussion
After the success of ‘Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana’, now the discussion has intensified about a new scheme in the state. According to sources, the government is preparing to launch ‘Larki Sunbai Yojana’ soon. It is being said that Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde can announce this scheme in view of the upcoming municipal elections. However, no official confirmation has been made by the government yet.
Ajit Pawar’s statement came out
When the media asked the Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Ajit Pawar, about this possible scheme, he clearly said that “Stop giving news quoting sources. Any major decision will be taken in the cabinet first, and only after that, the public will be officially informed about it.” It is clear from his statement that at present the government has not taken a final decision on the ‘Larki Sunabai Yojana’.
Towards making women self-reliant
‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana’ was started with the aim of empowering women economically and socially in the state. Under this scheme, married, divorced, abandoned, and destitute women are getting financial help. According to the new eligibility conditions, to get the benefit of the scheme, the age of women should be between 21 to 65 years, and their annual family income should be less than Rs 2.5 lakh.
Future hopes
Even though the ‘Larki Sunabai Yojana’ is still limited to discussions, curiosity about it has increased among the women and the general public of the state. If the government announces this scheme, it can prove to be a big political weapon for the Mahayuti government in the local elections.
