Major change in Haryana’s Lado Laxmi Yojana: Women will now get lump sum amount twice a year

Lado Laxmi Yojana: The Haryana government’s ambitious and popular Lado Laxmi Yojana may now be taking on a new form. Preparations are underway to change the monthly disbursement of Rs. 2,100 to women in the state. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced in Hisar that the government is considering disbursing this amount to women in two installments a year instead of monthly payments. He stated that a larger fee, rather than a smaller monthly payment, would be more beneficial for women, allowing them to easily invest it in important projects, essential needs, or starting a small business.

The accumulated amount will increase women’s self-reliance

CM Saini stated that the scheme aims to empower women financially. Receiving a larger installment at once will enable women to spend more systematically. The government also plans to expand the scheme in the next phase so that more women can benefit from it. Currently, the scheme is limited to women whose family income is up to Rs. 1 lakh annually. Intensive discussions are underway at the policy-making level to expand this scope.

The first installment was released on November 1st.

The Haryana government has allocated ₹5,000 crore for this scheme. An estimated 1.962 million eligible women aged 23 to 60 are enrolled in the scheme. The state’s Social Welfare Department, Panchayat Department, and CRED Department are implementing the scheme jointly. On November 1st, the first monthly installment of ₹2,100 was directly transferred to women’s accounts on the occasion of Haryana Day.

This was the day the scheme officially took its first step forward, bringing the smile of financial security to women.

Applications Only Through Mobile App

The application process for eligible women has been made completely digital. Applications can only be submitted through the Lado Laxmi Yojana mobile app. Women must be at least 23 years old and have been permanent residents of Haryana for at least 15 years.

However, the government has clarified that women receiving other government pensions, such as old-age pension, widow pension, disability pension, or any other form of social assistance, will not benefit from this scheme, so that assistance reaches women who truly need new financial support.

Women’s expectations regarding the scheme have increased.

Women are excited about the government’s new proposal. Receiving a lump sum will allow them to better manage their personal and family expenses. Many women already believe that larger, periodic installments will be more helpful than small monthly payments.

Women in both rural and urban areas hope that this change will bring new opportunities for them—whether it’s starting a business, managing household chores, or paying for their children’s education.

Government’s goal—A strong Haryana for empowered women.

The Haryana government says that this scheme is not just financial assistance, but a step towards giving women the opportunity for self-respect and self-reliance. The new installment system will provide women with both economic independence and social strength.

The scheme’s expansion strategy also indicates that it could emerge as one of the most influential women’s welfare schemes in Haryana in the future. The government is now preparing to implement it more transparently and on a larger scale in the new financial year.

Thus, with its new structure, the Lado Laxmi Yojana is moving towards becoming a strong support for women, where they will receive not only monthly assistance but also inspiration and opportunities.
