Melania Trump Threatens $1B Defamation Lawsuit Against Hunter Biden Over Epstein Claim

Melania Trump: The old rivalry going on in US politics is once again in the headlines. Former First Lady Melania Trump has warned President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, of a defamation suit of US$1 billion (about ₹8,300 crores). Melania alleges that Hunter made false and derogatory claims about her and former President Donald Trump, which have caused serious damage to her reputation.

The controversy started when Hunter Biden claimed on the YouTube show “Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan” that the late financier Jeffrey Epstein had arranged the meeting of Melania and Donald Trump and that they had a “deep and extensive relationship”. The statement spread like wildfire on social media, and as soon as it reached millions of people, Melania’s image began to be questioned.

An apology was sought in a legal notice, and a demand to remove the video

Melania Trump’s lawyer, Alejandro Brito, sent a formal legal notice to Hunter Biden and his lawyer, Abby Lowell, on August 6. It said that Hunter should immediately withdraw his statement, issue a public apology, and remove the related video from all platforms. Otherwise, a $1 billion defamation suit will be filed against him.

Brito wrote in the notice, “These false and inflammatory statements are causing serious damage to Melania Trump at both financial and reputation levels. This video and its claims have reached millions of people around the world. Brito also alleged that Hunter’s source is controversial author Michael Wolf, who is called a “serial fabulist,” i.e., a fabricator of false stories.

Heat increases in the US election environment

This controversy has emerged at a time when America is preparing for the next presidential election. Donald Trump is considered to be the leading contender of the Republican Party, while President Joe Biden is expected to contest again. In such a situation, this confrontation between Trump and the Biden family can make election debates, TV debates, and media coverage more intense.

Hunter Biden has not yet responded publicly to this legal warning, but the debate has intensified on social media. Melania’s supporters are calling it a fight for justice, while critics are considering it an election ploy.

In the coming days, this case can become a big issue not only in the court, but also in the political battle of America, where personal allegations, legal battles, and election strategies will get entangled with each other.
