Bihar assembly elections: Just before the Bihar assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched the Chief Minister Mahila Rojgar Yojana to empower women financially. Under this scheme, a female member of every family in the state will be given Rs 10,000 directly into their bank account as the first installment. The special thing is that there is no obligation of any kind of caste, class, or income for this.
The Chief Minister made a formal announcement of this through social media on Friday and informed that this scheme has also been approved by the cabinet. That is, it has been implemented with immediate effect. Its responsibility has been handed over to the Rural Development Department. Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary informed that women of 2.70 crore families of Bihar will benefit from this scheme.
Key points of the scheme
First installment: After registration, an amount of Rs 10,000 will be sent directly to the bank account of the women.
Sarvajan Hitaya Yojana: Women of every caste and class can apply; there will be no special conditions for eligibility.
Starting from September 2025: The registration process will start in September, and the amount will be transferred soon after.
Employment assistance: Women will be able to use this amount to start self-employment.
Additional help: After six months, if the woman takes her business forward, she will be reviewed, and if needed, additional financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh will be given.
Development of Haat Bazaar: Special markets will be built for the sale of products made by women in rural and urban areas.
