PM Swanidhi Yojana extended till 2030: Street vendors will get loan up to 90 thousand without guarantee

PM Swanidhi Yojana extended till 2030: During the Corona epidemic, when people’s small jobs had come to a complete standstill, the biggest loss was suffered by street vendors and small shopkeepers. Their daily earnings had stopped. At such a time, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government had started the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM Swanidhi Yojana), under which loans were given to small traders without a guarantee.

Now the central government has decided to strengthen this scheme further and extend it till 31 March 2030. Also, the loan limit under this has been increased from 80 thousand to 90 thousand rupees.

Benefits will be available till 2030

After the approval of the Union Cabinet, this scheme has become a big announcement of relief for crores of street vendors and small traders. According to the government report, this decision will benefit about 1.15 crore beneficiaries, including about 50 lakh new people.

The scheme will be operated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Department of Finance Services. The government estimates that this expansion will cost the government treasury about Rs 7,332 crore. But this expenditure will prove to be important for rebuilding the lives of small businessmen.

Now loans up to 90 thousand will be available in three phases

Earlier, under this scheme, a loan of up to 80 thousand rupees was given to the needy in three phases. But now it has been changed.

According to the new system –

In the first phase, a loan of Rs 15,000,

In the second phase, Rs 25,000,

And in the third phase, a loan of Rs 50,000 will be available.

That is, when any person repays the first loan on time, they will be able to get a bigger loan in the next phase. Similarly, in the last phase, a loan of up to Rs 50,000 will be available without a guarantee.

How many have benefited so far

Government figures show that this scheme has already changed the lives of a large number of people. As of July 30, 2025, more than 96 lakh loans have been given to more than 68 lakh beneficiaries across the country. Their total amount has been Rs 13,797 crore.

The special thing is that more than 47 lakh people have now become digitally active. These people have done more than 557 crore digital transactions so far, whose value has been more than Rs 6.09 lakh crore.

Loan will be available only with an Aadhaar card

The biggest strength of PM Swanidhi Yojana is its easy process. Beneficiaries do not need to mortgage any kind of property or guarantee. Anyone can take advantage of this scheme by just showing the Aadhar card.

One year is given to repay the loan amount. Also, the facility of easy EMI payment is also available. Because of this, small traders or street vendors can also easily take advantage of it.

Facility of Rupay Credit Card and Digital Cashback

The government has made the scheme more modern according to the digital age. Beneficiaries who repay their loans on time will also get a UPI-linked Rupay credit card. They will be able to use it for their business and personal expenses.

Not only this, to encourage small traders for digital payments, the government has also announced a digital cashback of up to Rs 1,600. This will not only increase their business, but they will also be a part of the journey of cashless India.

New hope for small traders

The expansion of the PM Swanidhi Yojana shows that the Modi government considers small traders as the economic backbone of India. This is not just a scheme to provide financial help but a campaign to make small traders economically self-reliant.

Benefits like increasing loans in three phases, the facility of digital transactions, and credit cards open a new path for small traders. It will not limit them to just running a livelihood, but will also give them an opportunity to grow their business.

A lifesaver for street vendors

The extension of the PM Swanidhi scheme till 2030 and the loan limit up to Rs 90,000 will prove to be a lifesaver for lakhs of small traders. Benefits like a loan without a guarantee, payment in easy installments, and digital cashback make it more effective.

This scheme is a ray of hope for those families whose livelihood depends on handcarts, kiosks, and small shops. In the coming years, this initiative will strengthen the small traders of India and will include them equally in the country’s economic journey.
