Fruits: Eat plenty of seasonal fruits like apples, bananas, papaya, pomegranates, oranges,s and cucumbers. These keep the body hydrated and give energy.

Milk, curd, and buttermilk can be consumed, but if you are avoiding milk and curd in Sawan, then avoid it. Some people say that at this time cows and buffaloes can eat contaminants from the grass.

Brinjal:

Brinjal is also prohibited from eating in Sawan because the possibility of insects increases in it and it can have a bad effect on digestion.

Garlic and onion:

These are considered tamasic food and their nature is hot, which can cause flatulence, gas or indigestion in the rainy season. They should not be consumed at all during fasting.

Meat, fish, and eggs:

Non-vegetarian food should be completely avoided in the month of Sawan. This is considered appropriate from both religious and scientific point of view because the risk of diseases increases in this season.

Normal salt:

Use rock salt instead of normal salt during the fast.

Curd:

Some people also avoid eating curd in Sawan, because the rain increases the moisture and germs in the atmosphere, due to which harmful bacteria can grow in curd. This can cause cold or stomach problems.

Food:

If you are fasting on Sawan Monday, do not eat food; eat only fruits.

Alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco:

These things break the sanctity of the fast and are also harmful for health.

Fried and spicy food:

Avoid heavy and spicy food, as it puts a strain on the digestive system and can cause sluggishness.
