Shubhanshu Shukla Space Mission 2025: India’s Giant Leap in Space
Read what Shubhanshu Shukla did on the ISS in 2025 in simple words and how it boosts India’s dream for Moon or Mars
Who is Shubhanshu Shukla
In June 2025 the Shubhanshu Shukla Space Mission 2025, made news in India and the world. He became the first Indian who joined Axiom Mission 4 (Ax 4). And stayed on the International Space Station for 18 days. He went to space on 25 June 2025, in a SpaceX rocket from Florida Kennedy Space Center and reached the ISS on 26 June. This trip links directly with India’s own big plan, called Gaganyaan which is coming in 2027.
60 Experiments in Space
When he was on the ISS Shubhanshu did about 60 different tests and studies. Seven of these came from ISRO which is India’s space agency. These tests can help solve real problems on Earth or in deep space in future.
Big experiments done in Shubhanshu Shukla Space Mission 2025
- Muscle Loss: He checked how muscles get weak when there is no gravity in space and how to stop it so people on Earth can use this to fight bone or muscle sickness
- Tardigrades: He looked at tiny creatures called tardigrades that stay alive in very tough places so they can be helpful if people want to go to Mars
- Growing Seeds: He grew seeds like fenugreek or mung beans so he could see what happens to genes or tiny life on them when they grow in space
- Cyanobacteria: He tested water bacteria that make oxygen or fuel which can help if people build Moon or Mars homes
- Microalgae: He checked if microalgae can give food or fuel when people travel far in space
- Crop Seeds: He grew six types of seeds in the ISS so they can be grown on Earth later to see if they change
- Voyager Display: He saw how looking at screens in space can affect eyes or the brain so future astronauts get better tools
Inspiring India From Space
On 28 June 2025 Shubhanshu talked to PM Narendra Modi and told him how beautiful Earth looks from above. On 4 and 8 July he spoke to school kids using radio and told them how life feels when you live high up where there are no borders so you see only one Earth.
Training for Gaganyaan 2027
The Shubhanshu Shukla Space Mission 2025 is not just about living in the ISS but it trains astronauts for India next big mission Gaganyaan that will fly in 2027. His time in space helped him learn how to live work or fix problems when you float in the air so this will help the next Indian astronauts too.
A Day in Orbit
His day was busy with doing tests working with his team or learning to live where there is no up or down. He ate or worked out all while floating in space. He took a tiny toy swan named Joy so he could show when he was really in zero gravity.
Why This Mission Matters
The Shubhanshu Shukla Space Mission 2025 is India’s bold move for Moon or Mars. It brings fresh data or teamwork with other countries and builds skills for India’s space dream. For kids it proves if you dream big so you can touch the stars too.
