SSC CGL 2025: End of rumors in the exam, hopes of lakhs of youth remain intact

SSC CGL 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Monday clarified that the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination is going on across the country without any major problems. Discussions about the cancellation of the exam on social media had created a stir among the students and their families. But the commission said that this is just a rumor. So far, the conduct of the examination has been completely systematic, and only a few shifts have been affected due to technical reasons. These affected candidates have already been given the opportunity to take the exam on an alternate date.

Examination of lakhs of candidates, no widespread disruption

Around 28 lakh youth are to appear in the SSC CGL 2025 examination. So far, 3,01,722 candidates have appeared for the examination. Out of a total of 2,435 shifts, only 25 had to be postponed for some reason. 7,705 candidates involved in the affected shifts have already been informed about the new dates. The commission said that the examination was conducted without any interruption at all the centers on September 15. Officials have appealed to the students to avoid rumors and maintain trust.

There are 6,183 posts reserved in the unreserved category, 2,167 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 1,088 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 3,721 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 1,423 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). This recruitment process is becoming a golden opportunity for the youth to enter government service.

These posts include many important departments from central ministries to intelligence and tax departments. Candidates will be selected for posts like Inspector Central Excise, Tax Assistant, Inspector in CBI, Accountant in CAG, Assistant in EPFO, and Assistant Section Officer in DOPT. Application process and way forward

The application process for this exam was completed through an online medium till July 4. Now the exam will start from September 12 and will run till September 26.
