UPSESC Recruitment Crisis Again: Assistant Professor Interviews Feared to Be Postponed, TGT-PGT Exams Already Postponed Multiple Times

UPSESC Recruitment: Questions are once again being raised about the functioning of the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission (UPESSC). The recruitment process for 910 Assistant Professor positions in non-government-aided colleges has been stalled for months. The current situation is that even the interviews scheduled for September 25th are not being held on time. Candidates’ patience is steadily waning, while the Commission’s silence is further complicating the situation.

Exam Results Declared, But Interviews Remain Suspenseful

The written examination for this recruitment was conducted on April 16th and 17th, and the results were declared on September 4th. Along with the results, the Commission clarified that the interviews would be held in two phases—the first phase from September 25th to October 8th and the second from October 28th to November 4th. However, the rules require that admit cards be issued at least ten days prior to the interview date. Now, only five days are left for the interviews to begin, and no official notification has been issued.

Candidates are wandering from pillar to post, and the Commission remains silent.

Candidates who passed the exam are constantly contacting the Commission, but are only receiving disappointment. Even the four-member committee formed by the government on June 12th to check the copies, release the cutoff, and complete the selection process for this recruitment has no information regarding the interviews. This clearly indicates that the interviews are likely to be postponed again.

TGT exam postponed three times and PGT four times

Candidates’ anxiety is further compounded by the fact that the Commission has already repeatedly postponed the TGT and PGT exams. Initially, the TGT exam was scheduled for April 4th and 5th. Subsequently, the new dates were set for May 14th and 15th, but those dates were also pushed back to July 21st and 22nd. The tentative exam dates are now set for December 18th and 19th.

Similarly, the PGT exam has been a highly complicated journey. It was initially scheduled for April 11th and 12th. Then, the dates were set for June 18th and 19th, followed by June 20th and 21st. The decision to hold the exam in the last week of August was also postponed. Now, the Commission has announced new dates for October 15th and 16th.

A Cloud of Confusion Over the Future

Continuously changing dates and failing to provide clear information until the last minute have left the future of candidates in limbo. Many candidates have expressed their disappointment with the Commission’s uncertainty, despite their preparation and expectations. The repeated delays in the recruitment process not only waste candidates’ time and effort but also raise serious questions about the transparency of the education system.

Candidates’ Demand: Transparency and a Concrete Roadmap

Candidates are now demanding that the Commission take the recruitment calendar seriously and conduct examinations and interviews on schedule. They argue that since the government has formed a four-member committee, there should be transparent communication with it. Currently, the Commission’s silence and indecision have jeopardized the entire recruitment system.
