Uttarakhand Rain Havoc: Uttarakhand is battling a celestial disaster these days. The continuous heavy rain has created havoc from the mountains to the plains. The pace of life has come to a halt, and there is a water crisis everywhere. The torrential rain that has been going on for the last two days has directly affected the daily routine of the people. Due to the rain, waterlogging on the roads, landslides, and the overflowing of rivers have created disaster-like conditions.

According to the warning of the Meteorological Department, the chances of relief are very less at the moment. An orange alert has been issued for today in six districts, like Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar. There are also signs of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Dehradun. There is a possibility of getting some relief only after Thursday.

Talking about the capital Dehradun, drizzling rain has continued since Tuesday morning. The rain gave some relief till noon, but by evening the clouds rained heavily again. Traffic came to a standstill due to waterlogging at many squares and intersections of the city. People had to face a lot of trouble. The water level of rivers and drains has increased, and the administration has advised people living in nearby areas to be alert.

Disaster has also been reported from the Dharali area of the Uttarakhand district. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet. According to the Meteorological Center, there is no equipment to record rain in Dharali, so it is difficult to assess the actual situation there at the moment. According to the information received from the nearby Harshil and Bhatwadi weather stations, less than 100 mm of rain has been recorded in these areas. Despite this, in view of the chaos in the area, it is being considered a disaster caused by excessive rainfall. A team of experts will soon visit the spot and take stock of the situation.

The situation in Haridwar was even more dire. The rain that started on Monday evening did not stop till Wednesday morning. During this period, a record 305 mm of rain was recorded in the city, which is the highest rainfall in the state so far this season. At the same time, 132 mm of rain has been recorded in Dehradun in the last 24 hours. Due to continuous rain, low-lying areas are flooded, and life has been affected in many places.

According to senior meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal, the next 24 hours may be even heavier in many areas of Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at some places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar. Along with this, there are indications of intense rain with thunder in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, and Pauri.

In view of the current situation, the state government and the disaster management department are on alert. People are being asked not to go out unnecessarily and follow the guidelines issued by the administration. The mood of the weather does not seem to be in the mood to calm down at the moment; in such a situation, vigilance is the biggest protection.
