The IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) issued a fresh rain alert for Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. In its 8 PM issue on Friday, light and moderate rain is expected to hit various places in the next two hours.
This alert is issued as the monsoon is very active across the region, pouring regular showers from the hills to the plains. The IMD’s real-time alert indicates that the wet spell is far from being over.
Districts Expected to Get Rain Soon
According to IMD’s X (formerly Twitter) post, these places are expected to get rain soon:
Haryana: Hodal, Meham, Hansi, Aurangabad
Uttar Pradesh: Meerut, Bulandshahr, Jahangirabad, Shikarpur, Khurja, Pahasu, Debai, Gabhana, Jattari
Rajasthan : Tijara
People are asked to remain indoors, get themselves informed about the weather within their area, and reduce their unnecessary travel amidst the forthcoming showers.
Western UP, Eastern UP to Receive More Rain
The weather department has also predicted heavy rain in the western part of Uttar Pradesh over the next five days, whereas east UP will experience heavy showers for three days at least.
Though these showers relieving the heat can also result in waterlogging, traffic congestion, and low visibility in some localities. Local authorities are alert, especially in low-lying areas.
Rain Continues to Soak Rajasthan
Rajasthan already has active rainfall going on. Chaksu received the most in the last 24 hours with 97 mm. The eastern regions witnessed light to heavy rain, while the western regions witnessed light to moderate rain, as informed by the Jaipur Weather Centre.
Forecast for the next few days is:
Heavy rains in Kota and Bharatpur areas on Friday.
Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota may face intense downpours between July 12 and 13.
Rainfall will rise above western Rajasthan from July 12.
Uttarakhand Hits by Intense Rainfall
Over the past 24 hours, several districts in the hilly state of Uttarakhand have experienced heavy rain. According to SEOC, the details are:

130.2 mm in Mussoorie Dunda,
Uttarkashi: 88 mm
Mukteshwar: 96.6 mm,
Nainital (Haldwani): 101 mm
Khatima’s Udham Singh Nagar: 78 mm
Tejam: 60.2 mm,
Pithoragarh (Bangapani): 88 mm
Almora (Ranikhet): 96 mm
Kapkot (Bageshwar): 124 mm
Tanakpur’s Champawat: 136 mm
Heavy rain has raised road blocks and landslide risk in the area. Residents should exercise caution and obey regional government issued safety rules.
