Yamuna water level in Delhi: The water level of the Yamuna River in the capital Delhi is continuously above the danger mark. The water level was recorded at 207.48 meters at the old railway bridge at 7 am on Thursday. This level has remained stable since Wednesday night, due to which the surrounding low-lying areas are flooded. The effect of the flood has reached many parts, like the Delhi Secretariat and Mayur Vihar Phase-1.
Water in low-lying areas, people’s difficulties increased
According to official data, the flood control bulletin released on Wednesday evening said that the water level will remain at 207.48 meters till 8 am on Thursday, after which it is likely to fall. At present, there is a flood-like situation in Mayur Vihar, Yamuna Par and other low-lying areas. Local people have been advised to move to safer places.
Traffic halted due to continuous rain
Continuous rain in Delhi and the rising water level of the Yamuna, both together are stopping the pace of the city. There has been a long jam due to waterlogging on many major roads. People going to office and school are facing a lot of trouble.
Road closed till Yamuna Bank Metro Station
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has informed that the connecting road leading to Yamuna Bank Metro Station has become inaccessible due to waterlogging. However, the station is operational and interchange facility is available. DMRC has appealed to the passengers to use alternative routes while planning their journey.
