According to a counterpoint research report, Apples iPhone 16 is the best selling iPhone in the world. This phone was launched for approx 80000 INR. iPhone 15 and 16 are also included in the list and are liked by people. However, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 ultra stood at 7th place.
Nowadays, people prefer premium smartphones over budgeted or mid range smartphones – highlighted in a report by counterpoint research. This report only claims that iPhone16 has been the best selling smartphone in the first three months and the phone was initially launched for 80K however after offers the price reached to 70K.
The list of top selling iPhones also includes iPhone 15 launched 2 years back in September 2023. The phone has crossed various android flagships recently highlighting the strong hold of apple in the global market with its phones. However, people are liking older models as well. Pro and pro max are left behind.
This is the first time in 2 years that apple regular iPhone model has outreached pro and pro max models across the globe. Apple did well in Japan as the sales have surged due to good economic conditions and changes in carrier subsidies which has made the device affordable.While MEA region also helped it to become the topper in the list.
Iphone 16 and iPhone 16 pro max and Iphone 16 pro took second and third place in global ranking. The Pro model made approximately half of total iPhone sales in the quarter showcasing people are willing to spend more on advanced features. China has not been good for Apple’s ki high end device this time. However, local brands like huawei dominated with the help of government subsidies.

Samsung smartphone at 7th number in list
Samsung’s latest most powerful device Galaxy S25 ultra came in 7th place, dropping a bit from last year’s S24 ultra. It is because the phone was available for a shorter period of time during the quarter. Still, S25 ultra performed quite well especially as Samsung is focusing on Galaxy AI features and other technologies.
