Kia Carens Clavis EV Set to Launch in India in July 2025 with 450+ Km Range

Kia Carens Clavis EV

Kia Carens Clavis EV : Kia’s new electric car – Carens Clavis EV – is going to be launched in India in July 2025. The company has officially confirmed this. This electric vehicle will be the electric version of the recently introduced petrol version Clavis ICE, which is considered to be the premium avatar of Carens.

The design of the Clavis EV will be slightly different from its petrol model. Its front look can see new style LED DRLs and changed alloy wheels. However, its overall body structure and design language will remain almost the same. Talking about the inside, things like dashboard, touchscreen, steering wheel and center console will be taken from the petrol model but some changes can be seen in the finishing and surface material.

The most special thing about this electric MPV will be its space. Three-row seating arrangement and premium cabin can make it a great option for families. Since there is no direct competitor in this segment yet, Clavis EV can get a full chance to make a special place for itself in the market.

It can have the same battery setup as the Hyundai Creta Electric, in which two options are given – one 42 kWh and the other 51.4 kWh. With a larger battery pack, the Creta Electric gives a range of about 473 km. Due to the larger size and weight of the Clavis EV, its range may be slightly less, but it is expected that it will be able to run up to 450 km on a single charge.

Currently, Kia India is selling EV6 and EV9 in its electric segment. In the coming time, the company is going to strengthen its electric lineup even more. After the Clavis EV, Kia is working on another compact electric SUV, which is said to be named Syros. This SUV can compete with the Tata Punch EV and is likely to hit the market by 2026.

With this, Kia recorded sales of 22,315 units in May 2025, which is about 14% more than last year. The company has been seeing sales growth for the fifth consecutive month, and now with the launch of the Clavis EV, this growth could accelerate even further.

Overall, the Kia Carens Clavis EV is bringing a new option to India for those who want space, style and range – all together in an electric car. Now it remains to be seen what its price is and whether it will be able to set a new trend in the electric MPV segment in India.
