Kia has showcased its all-new MPV Carens Clavis for the first time in India. This car is going to be launched in the market in the next few months and it will be sold along with the existing Carens model. Although the base of both the vehicles is the same, the look and design of Clavis looks completely different and premium, in which the SUV-like glimpse is clearly visible.
Strong change in exterior design
The front part of Carens Clavis has been completely redesigned. It has pointed-looking LED headlights, three pod style and sharp DRLs, which are inspired by Kia’s new design philosophy ‘Opposites United’. The black bumper at the front, silver skid plate and star-designed 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels make it more attractive. The LED light bar attached at the rear and the new bumper give it a modern and stylish look.
Interior – A combination of technology and luxury
The cabin of Clavis gives a completely new and high-tech look. The dashboard gets two large 12.3-inch digital displays that appear to be connected together. The steering wheel is also new, which is in a two-spoke design and is taken from the Syros model. The seating arrangement is in three rows like the Carens, and customers get 6 and 7 seater options, depending on the variant.
Features that make it special
The Kia Carens Clavis will be brought in seven different variants:
HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus.
Only the HTX Plus variant will get the option of 6 and 7 seater, all other variants will be 7-seater.
Some of the best features on this MPV are:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Electric driver seat adjustment option
- Ventilation in front seats
- 8-speaker music system from Bose
- Sliding second-row seats
- Dual-view dashcam
- No compromise on safety
The Carens Clavis comes with six airbags across all variants. It also gets safety features like a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, front and rear parking sensors, different drive modes and Level 2 ADAS. This includes features like driver fatigue detection technology and front collision avoidance assist.
Engine and performance
The Clavis gets the same engine options as the Carens:
- 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol
- 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol
- 1.5-litre diesel
The turbo petrol version now gets a new 6-speed manual gearbox.
Color and price
Kia Clavis will be offered in 8 single-tone color options. The special thing is that the new color named ‘Ivory Silver Gloss’ has been kept only for this model.
The prices of this premium MPV can start from around ₹ 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
