Kia Carens EV Launched Soon : Kia is working towards rapidly expanding its scope in India’s electric vehicle market. The company previously launched its luxury electric SUV EV9, and now the focus is on segments where there are more customers. Under this, Kia is preparing to bring the electric version of its popular family MPV Carens. It is believed that Carens EV can be introduced in India in the coming few months.
What will be special in Kia Carens EV?
The company is preparing Kia Carens EV as a completely family-friendly electric car. It is expected to get better space, advanced features and great range. The special thing is that this car is being made keeping in mind those customers who want to shift from a petrol or diesel engine car to electric but do not want to compromise on practicality.
Battery and range information
According to reports, two different battery options can be given in Kia Carens EV, one of which will be standard and the other long range battery variant. This battery setup can be quite similar to Hyundai’s new Creta EV. The larger battery of Hyundai Creta EV can run up to 473 km on a single full charge, but due to the slightly larger size and weight of Carens, its range may be slightly less.
There will be a change in design and look
The exterior look of Kia Carens EV will be slightly different from the petrol-diesel model so that it can enter the market with an electric identity. It can be given new style elements, closed grille design, special EV badging and aerodynamic touch, which will make it look more modern and smart.
Features will be full of technology
Many premium features can be given by the company in Kia Carens EV. These will include a large 12.3-inch touchscreen display that will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from this, advanced features like 360 degree camera, connected car features, wireless phone charging, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated seats can also be there in it.
Kia will not compromise on safety either. Carens EV is likely to be equipped with Level 2 ADAS technology, six airbags and smart driving assistant features. Also, eco-friendly materials can be used in its interior to reduce its impact on the environment.
Launching timeline in India
According to reports, Kia may first launch the new ICE (petrol/diesel) version of Carens next month. Carens EV can also be launched soon after this, although the company has not yet officially confirmed the launch date. But it is clear that Kia is now rapidly moving into the mass-market electric segment as well.
Which competitors will be in the market?
Kia Carens EV can compete with electric MPVs like BYD eMax 7 in India. However, due to Kia’s brand value, better service network and features, it can attract more customers.
