KTM E-Duke Prototype  : Whenever the name of KTM comes, the first thing that comes to mind is speed, style and stunts. But now the identity of this brand is not going to be limited to petrol engines only. KTM is now going to enter the electric bike segment as well and the first face of this new beginning is – KTM E-Duke. Recently, the first glimpse of this bike has come to the world, from which its design and some important features can be guessed.

We got this glimpse from the Motohall Display Zone of KTM’s Austria-based headquarters, where the brand’s stunt rider Rok Bagoros shared a video. In this video, E-Duke has been seen for the first time without any cover. It has become clear from this that the company has been working on this electric bike for a long time and now its prototype is ready.

KTM confirmed in an investor meeting in 2022 that it is working on the electric Duke. Now that its first look has come out, some information about it has also come out. According to reports, this bike will be given a 5.5 kWh battery, which will be paired with a 10 kW electric motor. Although its range is being said to be slightly less than 100 kilometers, but the company’s focus is not on mileage but on making the riding experience better.

Talking about its weight, it can be lighter than the regular Duke 390, because its battery is smaller and an electric motor has been given in place of the engine. Its chassis, swingarm, shock absorber, brakes and wheels look similar to Duke 390, that is, not much changes have been made in its mechanical basic structure. The motor has been fitted in the same place where the petrol engine is usually and the power is being delivered to the rear wheel through a chain drive.

One special thing was also seen in the video that a charging cable is seen attached to the top tank section of the bike, from which it can be assumed that it has an inbuilt charger. This means that the rider will not have to carry a separate charging cable, as has already been seen in the Bajaj Chetak scooter.

If we talk about the design, the E-Duke looks quite aggressive and sharp. KTM’s signature styling is also visible in it – muscular tank, strong tank extension and sharp headlight design at the front which matches the larger Duke models. Apart from this, features like TFT color display, disc brakes on both wheels and fully adjustable suspension at the front are also seen in it.

Now if we talk about production, it is being said that this electric bike will be produced by Bajaj in India. It will not only be exported for the Indian market, but also to the global market. The partnership between KTM and Bajaj has already been strong and with this project it seems to be getting even deeper.

So far the company has not given any official information about the launch date, but the way its prototype has come out, it is clear that the launch is not far away. It is possible that its production version may also be introduced in the coming months.
