Indelible Memories That India Can Never Wipe Out
One of the most haunting pictures which now sadly intrudes in the entire cyberspace shows Vinay dead on the cold hard ground with his bride drenched in sorrow and disbelief by his side. They were meant to be off to a romantic getaway while languishing as part of a pathetic terrorist attack wherein the lives of 26 innocents were lost. Reports confirm that before being shot an act meant to be of identity for simply being a Hindu an attacker had asked Vinay for his name.
Love Blossoms Where Terror Strikes
Pahalgam a place where these innocent souls had once dreamt of a honeymoon had become a holiday house of unspeakable horror. Among others was 31year old businessman Shubham Dwivedi from Kanpur. Married just two months prior he was on a post wedding holiday with his wife and extended family. This lovely trip of family bonding soon turned to bloodshed. Shubham was made to kneel before the militants and shot in the head while his wife Eshanya looked on horrified as his blood splattered on her.
Where Scream of a Bride Resonates, Outrage of a Nation
Eshanya said she could hear the horrible words of the attackers: “Go back and tell your government what happened.” Whereas Shubham’s cousin Saurabh Dwivedi clamored for swift action from authorities to see justice done for this heinous crime. What should have been their first family vacation will sadly forever be a history of mourning.
