After being rejected for his 57% score in Class 10, Akash Kulhari has become an IPS officer. He has made this journey in the IAS and proved that his past does not determine his future.

Struggling Student to Civil Services Hero

“I have been rejected” by his school when he secured only 57% in the 10th grade. And today, Akash Kulhari is positioned at the high pedestal of Inspector General (IG) in Indian Police Service. His inspiring journey, which was from below average student to top ranked IPS officer, is a case study of determination now.

School Rejection That Sparked a New Chapter

The performance in the 10th class, which was enough to deny admission into Class 11 at school in Bikaner, took him to Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bikaner, in a move pushed by his father that changed everything.

Turning Tables in Class 12

He had come into a fresh environment that by keep his goal sharply focused and maintain discipline. He went ahead to acquire state scoring 85 percent in Class 12, which was dramatic and it paved the way for his academic redemption.

College, JNU, and UPSC Dream

In Bikaner, Akash’s schooling was completed, and after that, he completed a Tata Institute of Social Sciences bachelor’s degree at Duggal College in Bikaner and pursued a Master’s degree at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi, one of the finest universities of India.

Then he prepared for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, which is one of the world’s most difficult competitive examinations, while doing his M.Phil.

UPSC Cleared in First Attempt- Rank 273

In 2005, Akash cracked UPSC the first time he had ever attempted it, and he has an All India Rank of 273 in the examination. He was inducted into the 2006 IPS batch posted in the Uttar Pradesh cadre.-

At present, he serves as IG (Public Grievances) at DGP Headquarters, Lucknow.Post of having power and responsibility of a person.

The Takeaway: Failure Isn’t Ending

Akash’s story is living proof that early failure can lead to future success. For every student still wandering after some bad marks.
