Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara : The demand for electric vehicles is increasing continuously in India and now the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is also going to launch its first electric SUV in this race. This vehicle will be named e Vitara, and it will be introduced in the Indian market in September 2025.

Design and strength

e Vitara has been designed on a special electric platform called Heartect e Skateboard Architecture. A large part of it is made of high-tensile steel, which will make this vehicle not only light but also strong in terms of safety. This SUV will be sold through Nexa’s premium network due to its sporty look and bold design.

Interior and technology

Inside the vehicle, you will find a large touchscreen display that will handle the entire infotainment and navigation work. Along with this, great features like digital instrument cluster, level 2 ADAS technology, 6 airbags, 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof and front ventilated seats will be given.

Battery and range

e Vitara will come in two battery variants. The first version will come with a 48.8 kWh battery, which will be available only in the base model. The second version will come with a bigger 61.1 kWh battery, which is claimed to cover a distance of more than 500 kilometers on a single full charge.

Charging and driving setup

This electric SUV will get fast charging support, which will take about 50 minutes to charge it from 0 to 80 percent. Although its international version will come with all-wheel-drive, only the front-wheel-drive version will be brought for the Indian market.

Colors and variants

e Vitara will be offered in many attractive colors. In single tone colors you will get Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Bluish Black, Opulent Red and Nexa Blue. On the other hand, dual tone options will get Land Breeze Green, Silver, Red and White colors with a bluish black roof. This SUV will come in three trim levels – Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

Production and Partnership

This vehicle will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant. The same platform will also be used in Toyota’s upcoming electric SUV, which is planned to be launched by the end of this year. Both the companies will sell it in India as well as export it to foreign markets.

Who will it compete with?

When this SUV comes to the market, it will directly compete with Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUVs.
