Today at Auto Shanghai 2025, a special and very attractive electric SUV made its global debut – MG CyberX. This SUV is still in the concept stage, but looking at its design, size and features, it is clear that if it is launched in India, it can become a strong contender against Tata Sierra.ev.
Strong design and tremendous road presence
CyberX is a boxy design electric SUV, which is about 4.30 meters in length. In this size, it comes in the segment of upcoming electric SUVs like Tata Sierra.ev, Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti e-Vitara. But its design and look make it different from all other vehicles.
SAIC Motor Design Head Jozef Kaban said at the time of launch, “This SUV is not just heavy in appearance, every angle of it shows strength and robustness.” He further said that “Its length is about 4.30 meters, but its proportions and boxy shape give it the identity of a powerful SUV.”
Pop-up headlights: Modern technology with a retro touch
The most special feature of the CyberX is its pop-up headlights. As the design head said “If you look at its face, your eyes will open,” the headlights hidden under the bonnet of the car came out.
Apart from this, the car has been given three levels of lighting – pop-up headlights at the top, then a thick LED light bar that extends across the entire width of the front, and fog lights at the bottom. This kind of lighting setup is quite unique and attention-grabbing in today’s SUVs.
Modern elements with rough and tough style
The look of the CyberX is like a strong and powerful SUV. The front and rear parts of the SUV are made in a straight and muscular design. High ground clearance, large 20-inch alloy wheels, wide and raised wheel arches give it a rough-tough look.
But it’s not just old style here – the SUV also has a lot of modern elements. Such as – flush door handles, roof rails, aerodynamically designed wheels and attractive full-width LED taillights at the rear. All these features make it a perfect fit in the premium SUV segment.
Will MG CyberX be launched in India?
MG already has a strong hold in India and looking at the kind of response the recently launched MG Windsor has received, it can be expected that JSW MG Motor can prepare this concept for India soon.
However, at present the company has not given any official information about its launch in India, but auto experts believe that the production version of this SUV can be seen in India by 2026.
If this car comes to the Indian market, it can prove to be a direct challenge for Tata Sierra.ev. Not only this, its strong design, modern features and premium looks can make it a popular SUV – and maybe MG can also get another blockbuster hit in India.
