Ola Faces Massive Setback: 75 Showrooms Sealed Across Maharashtra After Surprise Crackdown

Warning by Nitin Gadkari Triggered Action against Ola

Ola Electric is yet again in controversy owing to investigations initiated immediately after Union Minister of Transport Nitin Gadkari sent recent jolts to Ola Company for projecting a higher sales figure for February 2025. There was no other alternative open to the Maharashtra government in the face of all the strong notices issued by Mr. Gadkari. That resulted in the sealing of a total of 75 Ola showrooms in the entire State.

The Real Reason Behind the Closure of Ola Showrooms

Things got serious the moment every RTO came in and declared an inspection of all the 75 showrooms that were opened in the state of Maharashtra. To make matters worse, officials reported that out of available 146 showrooms, a shocking 121 were unable to produce the critical trade certificate.

The trade certificate is crucial in that it legalizes the registration of sold vehicles. “That’s why selling scooters without it is against the law.” Finally, 75 proposed Ola showrooms were sealed while around 192 electric scooters were seized. Although Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola, had stated earlier that the company was “working on” acquiring all the necessary certificates, the majority of the showrooms still went through the inspection with no conditions of law.

Ola’s Problems Keep Getting Bigger

Ola Electric has been plagued by problems for a long time. The company was regularly found guilty of poor customer service and unfair business practices. Ola has seemingly found ways to add to its already long list of controversies, instead of making amends and trying to regain trust from customers.

Another blot now added to the company’s list of ills came to be when it was discovered that Ola had claimed to sell 25,000 scooters in February 2025, whereas the actual count of registrations by authorities stood at just 8,647. The difference raised many eyebrows and led to mass investigations across the borders, especially in Mumbai and Pune.

Growing Scare Among Ola Customers

All these problems left some anxiety among Ola customers and potential buyers. Most fear that they will wake up and find their local Ola service centers shut without any future service for their vehicles. With further erosion of trust in the company, one other question keeps creeping into the mind of the customer: can Ola rectify its mistakes and rebuild its reputation or will Ola ever stop drawing attention for the wrong reasons?”
