A sigh of relief swept the nation as India and Pakistan issued a call for ceasefire on Saturday evening. Just a few hours after the announcement, Delhi Airport issued a new advisory to all air travelers. The news was direct—operations go on but with a change.

Airport Operations Continue but With a Twist

Even though flights are running as usual at Delhi Airport, the anxiety in the air has led to increased security. The airport has put out an advisory that certain flights will be delayed, and security screening might take a little longer than usual, and it’s all for safety purposes. Everything possible is being done by the authorities to ensure that the travel is safe for people.

What Passengers Should Remember

Passengers are requested to keep in close touch with their airlines to have timely updates. Keeping in view all the baggage rules, be it your handbag or check-in, is essential. Due to the tight security, travelers are requested to arrive early in order to give themselves extra time. Coordination with airport and security personnel will be a miracle in making it convenient. To check flight status, travelers are specifically advised to use the Delhi Airport website or the official airline websites.

New Flight Routes Take Off with Star Air

While security is being strengthened in Delhi, here comes some positive news from the air industry. Starting May 15, regional carrier Star Air will commence non-stop flights connecting Kolhapur with Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Nagpur. Along with providing 16 weekly flights connecting Kolhapur to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Tirupati, the carrier presently operates in this industry. With 28 weekly flights currently operating from Kolhapur to seven cities, the service will grow several times.

Adding more power to this growth, Star Air will upgrade its aircraft on the Kolhapur-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Kolhapur routes. The current 50-seat planes will be upgraded to larger, more comfortable 76-seater aircraft featuring business-class amenities.

A Step Towards Improved Regional Connectivity

This new addition is part of Star Air’s summer schedule boost and aligns with its vision to link more regional hubs. On June 3, the airline will begin operating 32 weekly flights from Kolhapur to locations such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kishangarh. Captain Simran Singh Tiwana, the CEO of Star Air, went on to say that the airline aims to increase air connectivity in underserved regions of India.

A Peaceful Step Forward

The external affairs minister S. Jaishankar formally announced the ceasefire agreement, who tweeted on X (previously Twitter), that the two countries jointly decided to bring an end to all types of military action—land, sea, and air. He restated India’s strong opposition to terrorism while also hailing this welcome step towards peace.
