A big change has been made in the way the PM Awas Yojana 2025 self-survey is verified in Bihar’s Narkatiaganj block. Until now, the job of checking who’s eligible for a house was being done by Panchayat Rozgar Sevaks (PRS) and housing assistants. But not anymore. Now, government staff and Panchayat Secretaries will handle this task.
It was passed directly by the Secretary of Rural Development Department, Lokesh Kumar Singh. The goal is to make the process more transparent and much faster so that the right people get their homes without delay.
Why This Sudden Shift?
As per the new order, fresh government employees will be appointed as surveyors for this process. The administration believes this step will increase accountability and reduce chances of manipulation or favoritism.
To be clear, the PRS and housing assistants have been officially removed from this responsibility. This shift isn’t just cosmetic it changes the backbone of how the scheme’s benefits are distributed.
Big Numbers, Bigger Responsibility
Across the 27 Panchayats of Narkatiaganj block, nearly 10,259 people have already filled out the self-survey forms under the scheme. That’s a huge number. Now, these applications will be checked by newly appointed staff and Panchayat Secretaries.
This means every single application will go through a fresh round of verification but this time by trained and accountable government officials.
