Awaiting PM-Kisan’s ₹2000? What You Should Know

There is good news if you are one of the 9.8 crore farmers in India who are anticipating the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Yojana. Going by previous patterns of releases, it is possible that the next ₹2000 tranche under this government scheme may be released in June 2025. While no official word is out yet, media reports state that it can fall any time during the following weeks.

With the 17th instalment having been received in June 2024, the 18th instalment in October 2024, and the 19th installment in February 2025. Thus, per the same calendar, June 2025 would be the probable time for receiving the next set of instalments.

Who Gains from PM-Kisan and What Is It?

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKisan) scheme declares that recipient farmers get a total of ₹6,000 in one year in three instalments of ₹2,000 each. It is credited in DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) beneficiary bank statements.

The scheme is intended to provide relief to small and marginal farmers and enable them to meet their expenses related to farming.

Tech Made It Easier—The PM-Kisan App

To make it easier for the farmers, especially those who reside in rural and remote areas, the government launched the PM-Kisan mobile app on 24th February 2020. The mobile form of the PMKisan web portal is the application.

In 2023, the app received a big upgrade, facial recognition for e-KYC. With this new feature, farmers can now scan their face using the app instead of needing OTPs or fingerprints. This has made the process faster and smoother for those in far-flung areas without good phone or internet access.

To get the installment promptly, farmers need to keep their information current. You will need the following:
