Over 2.6 Lakh Appear, Girls Outshine Again

This year, 2,65,388 students gave the Class 12 exams. Of these, 2,41,506 candidates cleared it, achieving a pass percentage of 91 percent. And once again, girls excelled far more than the boys. The pass percentage for girls is 94.32 and for boys it is 88.08, with a gender gap of over 6%.

Amritsar District Leads from the Front

District-wise performance, Amritsar had topped with an impressive pass percentage of 96.29%. Among the toppers,

Harsirat Kaur bagged the first position with 500 marks, Manveer Kaur and Arsh secured the second position scoring 498.

Private Schools Are Ahead, But Rural Areas Do Better

Success rate in private schools was 92.47% against 91.01% in govt schools. Aided schools came second with 86.86%. In a surprising twist, rural areas outpaced urban ones. The pass percentage has declined by nearly two percentage points compared with last year’s figure of 91.16%. Since the urban pass percentage was 90.74 %, the rural pass percentage was a tad higher at 91.20%.
