Raid 2 Movie Review: Ajay Devgn returns as IRS officer Amay Patnaik in this political thriller. Read the spoiler free review before watching this high stakes face off with Riteish Deshmukh. Ajay Devgn’s Explosive Sequel Is Both Gripping but Flawed – Should You Watch It?

Riteish Deshmukh Shines as a New Villain in a High Stakes Face Off

Ajay Patnaik returns in the Raid 2 sequel edition, which has been highly anticipated for two years since the release of this famous 2018 hit. The film directed by intensity and with a strong cast such as Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor, explores issues along the lines of political strategy, corruption, and justice. As the hype builds before the film’s release, fans want to know: does it live up to the original or does it fall short?

Corruption Empire and Lone Warrior

During the time when Amay Patnaik was transferred to Bhoj an endless city-full of secrets for being falsely accused of taking bribes, Dada bhai-an endemic local politician-finds his spotless image hiding a web of illegal operations-played very well by riteish deshmukh. He knows that his presence is so commanding that even the system cannot ignore it. This stirs him into action, prompting Amay to initiate a daring raid that is bound to brew up into a storm-exposing such dark undertones in politics.

First Half: Full Throttle Suspense; Stellar Performances

The first act of Raid 2 is purely a roller coaster ride. Tension builds with every scene, and Ajay Devgn completely slips right back into the skin of Amay. His stoic determination-my goodness, with Riteish’s shockingly killer performance thrown in-it all adds fireworks to it. The build-up to their confrontation is so filled with suspense that the first half becomes thoroughly entertaining.

Second Half: Predictable, and slightly rushed

But in the second half, it lags. It becomes predictable, and the conflicts seem to conclude in far too easy a manner. Even fan-favorite Tauji’s (Saurabh Shukla) emotional return is less great, less developed and more confusing than ever.

Box Office Buzz and Final Take

Despite the flaws of Raid 2 it really is stirring a buzz in the trade. With advances amounting to ₹6.52 crore trade analysts predicted an opening day collection of ₹11-14 crore. If you loved Raid this second edition has enough drama and action to keep you going. Just let go of your expectations, and you will enjoy the ride.
