Ingredients to make Mutton Curry :

  • Mutton—500 grams (washed well)
  • Onion—3 medium (finely chopped)
  • Tomato—2 medium (make a paste)
  • Ginger-garlic paste—2 tbsp
  • Curd—1/2 cup (whipped)
  • Turmeric powder—1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder—1 tsp
  • Coriander powder—1 tsp
  • Garam masala—1/2 tsp
  • Whole spices—bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, big cardamom
  • Green coriander—for garnishing
  • Salt—as per taste
  • Mustard oil—4-5 tbsp
  • Water—as per requirement

Method of Making Mutton Curry :

Mix curd, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and ginger-garlic paste in the mutton and marinate for 1 to 2 hours.

Heat mustard oil in a pan or cooker. Add bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom in the oil. Then add finely chopped onion and fry till it becomes golden brown. Now add tomato paste and cook well. After this, add coriander powder and other spices and fry till the masala leaves oil.

Now add the marinated mutton and sauté well with the spices. Cook it on medium flame for 10-12 minutes till the mutton changes color. Now add hot water as required. Close the cooker and cook the mutton till 4-5 whistles. Cook for another 10 minutes on low flame. Turn off the gas and add garam masala and coriander leaves on top. Mutton curry is ready! Serve mutton curry with hot roti, naan, tandoori roti, or jeera rice.
