Revolution on Three Wheels : Hyundai & TVS Enter Electric CV Space

An interesting partnership of Hyundai and TVS has come to the fore, which is considered a new step towards electric commercial vehicles (EVs). Both the companies together introduced some new concept vehicles at Auto Expo 2025, especially a 3-wheeler and a 4-wheeler. Now one of these electric 3-wheeler concepts has also been patented in India. Let’s understand this news in simple language.

New mission of Hyundai and TVS

Hyundai Motor and TVS Motor, both are big companies in their respective fields. Now they have come together and created a new concept, in which small and cheap electric commercial vehicles will be made for cities. At Auto Expo 2025, both of them showed two concept vehicles – a three-wheeler that runs on a handle and a four-wheeler with steering.

3-wheeler EV patented

Hyundai has patented the design of its new 3-wheeler electric vehicle in India. It has been named “e3W Concept”. This patent is only for the design, meaning its production version will take time to come and when it comes, there can be many changes in it so that it can be made in budget and can compete with other companies.

TVS will mainly look after the manufacturing and marketing work in this entire project, while Hyundai is doing the design and development. However, no firm agreement has been made between the two companies yet, rather they are examining the possibilities of this partnership.

How is this e3W concept?

This 3-wheeler is specially designed to run easily in the narrow streets and traffic of the cities. Some unique features are also seen in it like:

  • Height adjustment facility, so that it can run even on water-filled roads.
  • Large wheelbase and big tires, so that the journey is comfortable.
  • Tilted windscreen and more legroom.
  • 14 inch tyres, which are considered quite large for a vehicle of this size.

For the driver, it has a simple instrument panel which provides information like speed, battery charge, trip data. A stand has been provided to mount the phone on the handle so that navigation can be easily seen. Apart from this, facilities like a small fan and an umbrella for emergency have also been provided in it.

What’s next?

Although Hyundai has patented the design of this vehicle, it is not yet clear whether they will take this project to production or not. At present, it is only a concept and many changes can come in its price and design.

Conclusion:
This new step of Hyundai and TVS has brought a lot of possibilities in the world of electric commercial vehicles. If these vehicles come into production, then it can become an affordable and smart option for small businessmen and urban areas.
