Royal Enfield Classic 350 vs Jawa 42 : There was a time when mid-range cruisers meant much more than a ride for a lot of Indian bike lovers: They fulfilled the status of a dream of being on two wheels. In this league, the two names that come to the fore are Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Jawa 42. While both bikes share a plethora of style, comfort, and performance, they take diverse stands in balancing one or the other. The year 2025 will see these two cruisers come into being with more features and engine enhancements. So which one is yours? Let’s part ways through this comprehensive comparison and help you decide.
Design and Styling
Royal Enfield Classic 350 reminisces of old school design with an amalgamation of round headlamp and large fuel tank with a metal finish. A bike that gets noticed wherever it goes. The Jawa 42 is retro-modern-looking with an even sportier stance with alloy wheels and bright badass colors. If charm and elegance are to be considered, vote for the Classic 350. For a case of retro flavor with an edgy approach, it’s hands down the treasure of the Jawa 42.

Engine and Performance
Classic 350 rides on a single-cylinder 349cc engine producing around 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque; this is not meant for fast acceleration but for smooth and relaxed riding. The Jawa 42, on the other hand, being a 294cc engine, produces 27 bhp and 26.8 Nm of torque, which makes it a little responsive on the throttle. So if you have been really into slow cruising, the Classic has all of it; but should you want a mildly sporty ride, the Jawa 42 fits the bill.
Ride Comfort and Handling
A long haul on the Classic 350 is an absolute treat: the plush ride quality, good grip, and stability are, in good measure, due to the weight of the frame. On the other hand, the Jawa 42 is light in weight, allowing nimbleness in handling and more confident steering. Both these cruisers are agreeable seating-wise; however, for short riders, the ergonomics of the Jawa feel more relaxing.

The others may not be left behind, as the Jawa 42 also gets dual-channel ABS, LED lamps, and a digital display. In terms of fuel consumption, both crank an average of 35-38 km/l, depending on riding style.
