The traditional rituals began at 5 AM with the temple’s chief priest Bagesh Ling leading the preparations By 6:45 AM the ceremonial palanquin carrying Baba Kedarnath reached the temple and at precisely 7 AM the ancient doors of the temple were opened In a symbolic gesture the first puja was dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami overseeing the ceremony The temple buzzed with divine energy as the idol of Baba Kedarnath was reinstalled in the sanctum.

The first day of the yatra saw a record number of pilgrims As per official data from the Rudraprayag travel control room a total of 30,154 devotees visited the shrine including 19,196 men 10,597 women and 361 children This massive turnout highlights the immense importance of Kedarnath Dham for devotees across the country signifying the sacred significance of the journey.
