Skoda Octavia RS : Skoda’s popular performance sedan Octavia RS is going to knock in the Indian market once again after a long gap. After about five years, Skoda is preparing to launch this high-performance car in India again. This time the car will come in a facelift avatar and the launch is expected around September 2025.
Octavia RS will return to India again
Skoda has clarified that the new Octavia RS will be launched in India this year. This car was recently introduced at the Auto Expo 2025, where it immediately caught the attention of the onlookers. Last time this car came to India in limited numbers and was very much liked. Now it is being reintroduced with new updates.
Powerful engine and performance
The new Octavia RS gets a 2.0 liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine, which is similar to the recently launched VW Golf GTI. This engine generates 261 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. This car, which comes with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, has features like electronic limited slip differential, dynamic chassis control and progressive steering to further improve performance.
Its speed can be gauged from the fact that it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. At the same time, its top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

New sporty look and features
The sports chassis of the Octavia RS makes it sit 15 mm lower than the regular Octavia, which further increases its sporty appeal. However, the ground clearance may be slightly changed in India.
This car has many high-end features, such as:
- LED matrix headlights
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- LED taillights with animated turn indicators
- Sports seats and pedals with stainless steel finish
- Large 13-inch touchscreen system
- Kick-activated tailgate to open the boot
“Emotion Start” feature, which revs the engine up to 2,100 rpm as soon as the car is started and gives a sporty sound
For braking, it has ventilated disc brakes of 340×30 mm at the front and 310×22 mm at the rear, which keep its performance under control.
Price and availability
This new Octavia RS will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The previous generation RS was earlier priced at Rs 24.62 lakh (ex-showroom), but after becoming a CBU, its price reached Rs 35.99 lakh. This time the price of the new generation is going to be even higher and it can be above Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Skoda’s future plans
Skoda India Brand Director Petr Janeba has confirmed that the Octavia RS will be launched by September 2025, so that it is available in the market during the festive season. Currently, the company has put the launch of the new regular Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq RS in India on hold due to the EU-India FTA agreement.
