“I Could’ve Been Acquitted Early, But I Chose the Trial”
In a one-to-one interview Sooraj explained why he did not seek early acquittal. “I instructed my lawyer not to act hastily. Had I been acquitted too hastily people would have blamed me as being privileged. I wished to witness each other facet of law so that reality emerges.”
Sooraj was legally cleared in 2023, but the court war lasted for 12 years. Throughout this duration, his career became static his personal life became interrupted and his psychological strength was tested.
