Monsoon Alert : IMD Predicts Fierce Weather Twists Across Five States 

An IMD Red Alert: Heavy rains and thunderstorms are on the way for these states while a heat wave is soon to bid away

A dark cloud is about to gather in the sky of Delhi, which is currently having soaring temperatures nearing 40° C.

 

The sun has been raging from the leaves to the footpath. With temperatures of Delhi of late having risen above 40 centigrade only a few really see any chance of respite from this furnace. Late hours are hot they are an unusual sight. The major weather change the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is even laying its optimistic bets upon foreboding a breaking away of this unrelenting heat due in perhaps the next few gory hours.

Weather Change in UP: Thunder, Rain Bringing Big Relief

The change in weather was already felt on the first day in Uttar Pradesh. Rain with gusty winds was reported in various districts on Sunday, dropping the temperature drastically. According to IMD predictions, the cool weather would persist till May 3. The weather is expected to clear in western UP by April 28, with eastern UP receiving isolated showers, thunder and winds speed of 40-50 km/h. Major areas of concern include Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Ghazipur and Mirzapur where stormy weather and lightning have been warned.

Short Update: Rain Forecasted in Delhi Soon- A Cooldown For Capital Set to Become Effective from April 29

 

Today  the sky in Delhi would largely remain partly cloudy, with its maximum at 41 °C and minimum at 26 °C. But rain and thunderstorm operations are expected to assume an aggressive possession of the capital from April 29 giving heavy relief to the residents. The temperature during Tuesday may slightly drop finding a maximum around 39 °C.

Heavy thunderstorms with lightning have been warned of by the IMD in Uttarakhand for April 30, 2025, from clear waters of the morn to roasts from the blistering sun. Light rain showers however will bless Hit with some temporary relief from impending high temperatures across Himachal Pradesh from May 1 to May 3.

Northeast and Central India- Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued

 

Heavy eastern rain is expected to sweep through Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura from April 28 and 29, as the IMD put it on a red alert. Thunderstorms, lightning and shrill winds may lash pockets of eastern India and western UP throughout this period. Meanwhile, the folks in Chhattisgarh may want to revamp their wardrobe between April 26 and April 28 as per a changing feel.
