Suzuki GSX-8R 2025 : Suzuki has updated its 2025 GSX-8R motorcycle in India according to the new OBD-2B norms. This bike still has the same 776cc parallel-twin engine, which has four valves and DOHC system. This engine comes with a 270-degree crankshaft, which makes it sound like a V-twin motorcycle. This engine also has the company’s special Cross Balancer technology, which does not vibrate while the bike is running and the ride remains smooth.
Features and Electronics
This bike gets the same advanced electronics setup as before. It includes features like bi-directional quickshifter, three levels of traction control, different riding modes and low-rpm assist, which are controlled by the ride-by-wire throttle. The gearbox is also the same 6-speed unit and has the same clutch assist and slipper clutch as before.
Suspension and Braking
There is no change in the frame and suspension setup of the bike. Showa brand’s SFF-BP front forks are fitted at the front, while a linked monoshock setup is provided at the rear, which also has the facility of preload adjustment. For braking, 310mm disc brakes are provided at the front, which come with radial mounted callipers and give better stopping power.
Design and Looks
The design of the bike has been kept sporty and aggressive as before. Its front inclined body, hexagonal shaped LED headlamps and clip-on handlebars give it a sharp and attractive look. The windscreen has been designed keeping aerodynamics in mind. There is no change in its fuel tank and fairing and it has the same alloy wheels on which Dunlop RoadSport 2 tyres are mounted.
Colour Options and Price
The updated GSX-8R has been launched in three colours – Metallic Matte Black No.2, Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Matte Sword Silver. It has been priced at Rs 9.25 lakh (Delhi) ex-showroom and is available through Suzuki’s Big Bike dealerships across the country.
Impact of OBD-2B update
Although there has been no technical change in the power and torque of the bike, it is now compliant with OBD-2B emission standards. This means that the bike not only comes within the ambit of the law but has also become better and cleaner in terms of the environment. Deepak Mutreja, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, said that this update gives customers a powerful and smooth performance experience, as well as it meets the changing environmental standards.
