Swiggy Instamart glitch unknowingly granted customers up to 5 lakh in free cash, which brought them into the social media limelight.
A post on Reddit went viral which claims that swiggy instamart users got discounts ranging from 4000 to rs 500000. The post was added with a screenshot with a caption titled ” Someone is definitely losing their job at swiggy’ highlighting the message INR 500,000 free cash applied on your order above 199″.
According to the post, Swiggy also contacted users after delivery, requesting customers to return the purchased items under the glitch.
The post on Reddit instantly went viral, with users showing both curiosity and disbelief. One user asked, ‘How will you get the money?’
However another commented ‘ it is a marketing gimmick’ saying “everybody I know has got Rs 40-100 off, is there anyone who got this much discount?

One Bengaluru resident reported unusual delivery scams
In another ecommerce related incident Bengaluru residents have raised concerns regarding unusual delivery scams involving major delivery platforms. Two cases have been highlighted by Reddit, highlighting security breaches and fraudulent activities.
In one post, a woman received a call from someone claiming to be a Swiggy delivery agent, mentioning he had a parcel addressed to her under her boyfriend’s name. However, the woman did not have any deliveries nor any delivery notifications received from her gated society, as security guards alert residents before granting entry. What increased her suspicion was that neither she nor her boyfriend had placed any order, and when she asked the caller to leave the package at her door, nothing was found. She wrote ‘Something doesn’t feel right’
